New, sustainable, trail inspired Fall Collection! The goal for us is to create locally produced, sustainable and functional clothing for the conscious runner. When we now release the first garments in the autumn and winter collection, we live up to all these criteria. In addition, the autumn training has never looked better than now!
In the book “The Front Runner” by Björn Lundberg, he writes about the legendary runner Gunder Hägg, who during the years 1938-1945 set 15 individual world records. In the middle of the Jämtland district in the northern parts of Sweden with it’s mountains and forests, in the small community of Västanede, the foundation was laid for this fantastic career.
On a farm near the community, Gunder Hägg was a helper and here he also received guidance from the farm’s owner Fridolf Westman, who also became his coach. Between the work shifts on the farm, Gunder ran intervals and distance among mires, tress and hills in the beautiful Jämtland landscape. Regardless of the season, he was out in the woods running and just like the farm’s former helper, Henry Jonsson, Gunder became a world class runner.
In the development of the fall- and winter collection, we have been inspired by life as a runner in Västanede in Jämtland. The running in our Nordic climate, the seasons and not least the mighty nature in the north with the forest and the mountains is the basis for the garments we now release. The colors are classic and the fabrics are light. We have developed garments to keep the runner warm without feeling clumsy. These are clothes for trail running but work in many environments and for many sports.
Our First Running Gloves
Now in September we release the first garments in our collection of new running wear and then we have releases all the way to January. First out is Åsunden Gloves which are our very first gloves. They are light and functional while keeping the runner warm. The moisture-absorbing fabric is made from 100% recycled plastic and knitted in Sweden. In addition, they are ÖKOTEX Class 1 certified. The logo is Bluesign certified. Match the gloves with the Åsunden Beanie who is now making a comeback.
Burgundy Running Tights
Our customers have requested burgundy tights, so now we are releasing Änggården Men’s Tights Wine red. The color matches nicely with navy blue and mustard yellow and the burgundy details on the label in Åsunden Windbreaker Navy for man and woman match nicely with the tights.
Later this autumn, we will release more performance wear and also the Västanede Beanie which is a merino hat, as well as the winter tights Åsunden Insulation Tights. Åsunden Hoodie in navy blue / mustard yellow is also making a comeback soon, as is the popular 1984 Plush Sweatshirt. Utö Windbreaker will be released in October and later this autumn / winter the remaining garments will be in our new collection.
