The New Åsunden Windbreaker
Having a waterproof and windproof jacket from recycled materials has been on our wish list for a long time. The development of the new windbreaker began 18 months ago and now we finally see the result in the form of the new Åsunden Windbreaker for MEN and WOMEN. This windbreaker is made from recycled plastic and woven in Sweden.

In the heart of Sweden’s Textile district
Our Nordic climate places high demands on running clothes for large parts of the year. Therefore, we have worked hard to develop innovative and light running clothing for outdoor training all year round. First out were the clothes that keep the heat, in the form of Åsunden Hoodie and Beanie for man and woman. Now we are launching the jacket that can withstand wind and wet – Åsunden Windbreaker. The name Åsunden comes from the large lake in the heart of the textile district Sjuhärad, where we produce all our fabrics and where I spent a large part of my childhood. As warm and beautiful as it can be in the summer, Åsunden can be as cold and windy during the autumn and winter.
100 % from recycled plastic
From my bedroom window in the town Borås, I could look down on one of the most innovative fabric manufacturers in Europe who also works with sustainable materials. At YMR Track Club, our ambition is to work as locally as possible and when we now for the first time wanted to weave a fabric from 100% recycled plastic, the choice fell on this weaver who has manufactured high quality fabrics for generations for the sports industry.

With influences from Track & Field
I am proud that we use a fabric that is OEKO-TEX class I certified. It is developed with the help of micro fiber technology, which makes the jacket both water and wind repellent while maintaining good breathability. The design is, as so many times before, classic with influences from track & field- a world I have lived in since the mid 80’s. The hood has an elastic and a small screen up to. The chest pocket with zipper is large enough for a smartphone or keys, for example. On the back of the jacket there is ventilation and a reflector with our logo in as well as our larger YMR logo.

Together with Åsunden Hoodie and Beanie as well as Änggården– and Vallen Tights, we have created an outfit for training outdoors in colder climates. Thanks to everyone who helped create Åsunden Windbreaker!
