YMR Track Club was built from a love of all things running. We are lucky to work with some amazing runners accross different levels and from different backgrounds. Our team of Brand Ambassadors is made up of individuals who love running just as much as we do.
Marathon running has always been close to our hearts here at YMR. We are pleased to see so many of our team training, competing and excelling at marathons around the world. With that in mind, we caught up with our Brand Ambassador Fredrik Stoltz as he prepares for the Valencia Marathon. Fredrik shares his training regime, coached by another of our Brand Ambassadors Simon Wikstrand.
I have only heard good things about Valenica. Optimal weather conditions (hopefully), a completely flat course and not too far away. It must also be a fantastically beautiful city. So a lot that attracts. Then there are 30 runners from the club going down this year, which is really fun.

It's a lot about planning your running into your life. For me, it has been a matter of priority. I believe that running is so important that it deserves a priority over Netflix, long lunches and lots of naps.
I am coached and trained by my good friend Simon Wikstrand who has a huge interest in running in general and has also achieved fantastic times at all distances. This in combination with career and family. A fast-paced life, just like mine. We have set up a program spanning 10 weeks of marathon-specific training. Roughly speaking, it's about 100km a week and many threshold sessions where I get to run at marathon speed. Two quality sessions and one long session as well as using competitions along the way as part of the training.
The best part of any marathon is standing on the start line of a big race is always special. It's a mixture of nervousness, anticipation and a rush of adrenaline.
When it becomes difficult is at 28-30km. That's when you get to go into another state of mind. That's when you just have to trust that the body will last, that all the training you've done has produced the results you need. Then it's just a matter of "closing your eyes" and hoping for the best....
I really love all the clothes from YMR. It feels luxurious every time you change and go out. My favorite now is to put on a Västanede Merino and Torekov Performance Vest, depending on the temperature. Then I often run in a pair of Torekov Shorts or Åsunden shorts. Everything fits together and that is one of the great advantages of YMR's collection. You can combine more or less everything and it looks amazing!
As well as marathon training, working and family life - Fredrik & Simon host one of the top running podcasts in Sweden. Löpning & Livet pod shares a light-hearted take on the every day, unglamorous life as a runner. A not so serious way to connect runners from all walks of life.
You can now listen to the latest episode featuring YMR Track Club Founder & CEO, Peter Häggström Lindecrantz.
