There’s something magical about race day in Chicago. The crisp October air, the stunning backdrop of the city’s skyline, and the hum of excitement from over 45,000 runners all converging for one of the most iconic marathons in the world.
When our Brand Ambassador Mustafa "Musse" Mohamed came by our Clubhouse in Stockholm, we took the opportunity to take some ask some questions as he sets his sights on this weekend's Chicago Marathon.
"After a longer period of good training and good form, things have been a bit messier lately. I've had a little fever and I've also had a little pain in my heel. However, the training has been ok, but I have been forced to rest a bit more between sessions. Hopefully I can live up to my previous good form, where I managed to take three golds at the Masters WC (5km, 10km and half marathon) a few weeks ago".
"I have put in more long runs, where the longest was 40k and two more long runs of 35k. Given that I'm a bit older today (45 years old), I need more recovery after tough sessions. Today I put in a rest day after the hard sessions. There will also be more visits to the physio these days so that the body can cope".
"The Chicago Marathon stands out for its flat, fast course, incredible crowd support, and scenic route. It’s a world-class event that combines elite competition with an inclusive, community-driven atmosphere, making it unforgettable for every runner"
"Research shows the importance of movement in order to feel good. Not least running, many testify to how good it is for our well-being. There is even research that shows this and I have heard of doctors who almost prescribe running as a prescription for those who want to feel better mentally".
"I will run in the Änggården Men's Singlet Navy/Blue and either with the Utö Shorts Blue or the new Bäckaryd Men's Mid Tights Navy. Then I will wear the Åsunden Compression Socks Off-white/Blue. If it gets cold, I will also run with the Åsunden Sleeves and possibly the Åsunden Beanie".
