OUR STORY
YMR Track Club was founded in 2017 when the Olympic athlete in track & field, Peter Häggström Lindecrantz produced an anniversary collection for the sports club IK Ymer in connection with their 100th anniversary. Peter, who competed for the club throughout his sports career, got a taste for it and decided to design more garments. The result was an entire collection and the formation of YMR Track Club.
The club IK Ymer is also comes from Sjuhäradsbygden and was formed in 1917. The name comes from the giant Ymer in Nordic mythology. He was the athlete who carried the earth on his shoulders as earth was created in the collision between ice and fire. The club has a solid history of sports achievements in various sports on the merit list. For several years it was also a very prominent running club.
"My passion for running was born in 1984. When the Olympic games in Los Angeles started, I immediately fell in love with track & field. 16 years later, I stood on the track at the Sydney Olympics in front of 100,000 spectators. Running and athletics are the basis of all sports, and I am equally passionate about the lifestyle today. At YMR Track Club, we design clothing for runners who hopefully share the same great love for this spectacular sport."

Founder & CEO
"My passion for track & field and running was born back in 1984. My father had been to Los Angeles and came home with souvenirs, including a bag with hurdler Edwin Moses on it. I loved that bag with the picture of Moses gracefully running over the hurdle at top speed.
A few weeks later, the Los Angeles Olympics began. As an eight-year-old, I had a poor grasp of what the Olympics were, but the opening ceremony was spectacular and some may remember the guy who came flying into the arena with a magic backpack. Anyway, it's a moment I'll never forget.
Later the games started and I immediately fell in love with track & field. Carl Lewis became the big star with his four golds in 100m, 200m, long jump and 4x100m. The precision where hundredths and centimeters decide was something I liked from the beginning, but the simplicity also fascinated me. One step after another, a little longer, more often. First over the finish line wins.
In addition, the clothes were nicer and more daring than in other sports. The big track competitions are also a form of fashion show. This was something I noticed early on.
Not long after the 1984 Olympics, I signed up for the local track club with a dream of one day competing in the Olympics myself. 16 years later, after a lot of work, I stood as a long jumper on the track at the Sydney Olympics in front of 100,000 spectators. My personal records are 807cm in long jump and 10.30 in 100m.
Running and athletics are the basis of all sports and I am equally passionate about running and track & field today. In principle, everyone can participate and train and compete, and there is a branch for everyone, regardless of what physical conditions we have.
It is one's own development that is at the center, where one constantly strives to develop one's personal best. The performance wear are important to cut that second or hundredth and to jump or throw a little further. The materials, the cuts, the lightness are decisive, but the ambition is also for the fashion to reflect our passion for the world's best sport.
This is something that is constantly in focus with us at YMR Track Club, as we design clothing for athletes who hopefully have the same great love for this spectacular sport."
