FROM SUNRISE TO SUNSET
Taking all our passion for sports, fashion and the small details which help us reach faster times and longer distances, to help us create our new collection. For the S/S collection, we headed for a weekend of running in a place that inspires the heart and pushes the body to go further and faster.
Here in the Lombardy Region surrounding Lake Como, the winding roads are usually dominated by small cars and cyclists. But for this weekend, it belonged to us, the runners.
Out early into the fresh morning air, we have found our starting point for the day. Pulled up at the side of the road for a quick stretch and quick change into our Lysekil Long Sleeve and Österlen T-Shirt. Then hop over the fence and into a misty field for our first training session.
With a backdrop of the first rays of sun rising over the Lombardy Hills, the surroundings make for a calm start to a day of running. Warming up with a light jog, it feels great to get the body moving. Our jogging pace increased as the sun rises. With pulses starting to raise and the body loosening up, we have made the perfect start to a long day ahead.
High in the Lombardy hills, where the time and season would be a mystery if not for our smartphones. A thick mist rolls in from over the mountain top, across the fields and roads that will soon be our training location.
This high up, with the hill tops are now blocking the sunrise and temperature is quite cool. As we begin our warm up, now we need base-layers to manage the small chill in the air. The Västanede Ladies LS Merino and Lysekil Men’s LS provide the temperature control needed for this early morning session.
As the morning progresses, the sun rises higher and our level of effort also rises. At this time of day, the roads are free from cars and available to the runners. Now we can fully stretch our legs and get into a good flow.
Long strides, one step after another, pushing harder up-hill with the sun beginning to warm our backs. At this point, the Massanella Performance Glasses have become a necessary training accessory.
Here in the region Surrounding Lake Como, the roads perpetually wind around the vast range of hills. So many twists & turns up sloping roads can make for difficult running conditions. These roads are usually the domain of cyclists and motorcycle riders, so care has to be take as we continue with our running session.
With the temperature rising, we make the switch into performance singlets. The Söder Mälarstrand Men's Vest and Lysekil Ladies Singlet provide a lightweight and breathable running experience.
Getting away from the roads for a while, our next training spot is a stretch of farm land deep in the Lombardy Hills. Within a deep valley, surrounded by mountains, we get a small experience of the alps with Switzerland so close by. This area of farm land is broken up by a small path leading to the farm hour further down the valley. Here we decide to take on some more drills.
Flush with grass, we decide on a running look to match the environment and temperature. The Lysekil Men's T-Shirt in green and Österlen Ladies T-Shirt in off-white paired with our Söder Mälarstrand Shorts and Åsunden Compression Socks Green.
Making our way back down the hills, and now we get the most authentic Italian running experience. On the streets of the small town Lecco, we just about find space on the narrow roads to keep on running. Pausing from time to time to let past a small Kia is worthwhile so we can take in the town as we run.
The warmth of the day is matched by the color in the buildings surrounding us. To keep in tune with the town, we change into the Lysekil Singlets in off-white and Lysekil Shorts in chocolate brown. Completing the look with our orange & brown compression socks.
It has been a long and hard day of running. Through a range of different environments each more beautiful than the last. We just about have enough energy to muster up one final session to catch the sunset.
Once again navigating the winding roads, climbing with every step. There is a certain relief to the final effort of any hard training session. The knowing that you are free to empty the tank completely and give it everything you've got. One last sprint up-hill and we are done for the day.
As we started with the sun rising above the Lombardy Hills, we end our long day of running and take a moment to reflect as the sun sets behind the mountain top.
